Well it's been a while since I posted here in the blog (14 months but are we really counting?!) so about time to blow the dust off (thanks Paul). Here's what's been happening at Marzipan:
London Wine Fair
I went to my first trade fair in May which was both exciting and nerve wracking. I wasn't sure what to expect but I had a grand plan. In truth I probably over estimated what I could achieve but I'm really pleased I went, I got to meet some great people and it gave me lots of food (drink?) for thought.
Timelines
Adam you've been building Marzipan for quite a long time now, why is it taking so long?! A question that I get a lot (and quite often from me). The truth is that it is taking longer than expected but building best in class software for wineries is hard and definitely takes time. In the software development world we're big on MVPs (minimum viable products) and launching quickly but it's not the only way to build software. At Marzipan we're taking the slow and steady route - we're in this for the long haul and it's important that what we build works for you.
Subscriptions (Clubs)
I've mainly been working on improving and extending the club and subscription features - some more on that in a future update - and fixing those pesky bugs to ensure that Marzipan is stable enough for more wineries to use.
For those who follow me on LinkedIn you'll know that I also had a naming dilemma when it came to clubs and subscriptions which was interesting to explore (spoiler: I've stuck with subscriptions as a club is a subscription but a subscription isn't necessarily a club) and I'm sure that all will be self explanatory in the app.
