Connect your Google Merchant Center account and Marzipan keeps your wines listed on Google for you. Products, prices, images and stock levels are pushed across automatically, and updated whenever they change in Marzipan. There is no feed file to build and no spreadsheet to re-upload every time a vintage sells out.

About Google Merchant Center

Google Merchant Center is where Google keeps the product data behind Shopping results. Once your wines are in it, they can appear in the Shopping tab, in Search and in Google Images as free listings, and you can choose to run Shopping ads against the same catalogue later if you want to.

It is worth having for most wineries selling direct. People searching for a specific grower, a specific cuvée or a specific vintage are already close to buying, and free listings put your own shop in front of them rather than only the merchants who stock you.

The catch has always been the feed. Merchant Center expects a structured product file, kept current, with the fields Google requires and the prices your customers actually see. Maintained by hand, it goes stale within a week. That is the part Marzipan does for you.

What the integration does

Product sync. Marzipan builds each listing from the product you already have: name, description, images, price, sale price, availability, brand and Google product category, plus the barcode and SKU where you have recorded them. Nothing is retyped into a second system.

Prices and stock stay current. When you change a price, start a sale, or a wine sells out, Marzipan flags the product and pushes the change on the next sync. Listings that say in stock are in stock.

A feed per market. Each active market in Marzipan becomes its own feed in Merchant Center, with its own currency and target countries, so a bottle can be listed at the right price in each place you sell.

Wine clubs included. Subscription products are listed with their billing period and recurring price, so a club membership reads as a subscription on Google rather than as a one-off purchase.

Withdrawals are handled. Delete a product and Marzipan removes it from Merchant Center straight away, rather than leaving a listing pointing at a page that no longer exists.

What gets left out, and why

Not everything in your catalogue belongs on Google, so Marzipan is deliberate about what it sends. Event tickets are excluded, because Google Shopping rejects them and the disapprovals count against your account. Products restricted to club members are excluded too, since Google requires a price the public can see. Drafts, products with no image and products with no price in a given market are skipped until they are ready.

Anything held back is listed on the integration screen with the reason, so it is a decision you can see and fix rather than a silent omission.

How often it syncs

Google allows a limited number of updates per product per day, counted against your own Merchant Center account. Rather than push on every single save, which order volume alone would exhaust, Marzipan collects what has changed and sends it on a schedule you choose. Twice a day suits most catalogues. You can sync everything manually whenever you want, and turn the scheduled sync off entirely if you would rather drive it yourself.

Setting it up

You will need a Google Merchant Center account with your shop's website verified and claimed. That part only you can do, from your own Google account. Once it is done, connect it to Marzipan by signing in with Google from the integrations screen, choose which Merchant Center account to use, set a default product category and a sync interval, and your catalogue goes across.

Your Merchant Center account stays yours. Marzipan writes your products into it and nothing else. If you would like a hand with the setup, get in touch.
