Small Producer Relief: why it rarely applies to wine
The relief stops at 8.5% ABV, below almost every wine.
Small Producer Relief reduces duty for producers making 4,500 hectolitres of pure alcohol a year or less, but only on products below 8.5% ABV.
Almost all wine is stronger than that, so the relief rarely applies. It matters mainly for low-alcohol wines and some fruit wines. The calculator does not apply it.
